I don’t know about you, but all this bitter cold weather has us feeling so blue! To cheer ourselves up, we decided to make this bright and delicious smoothie bowl! It looks funky, but it actually just tastes like banana & coconut- yummy!!
Luck would have it that these were some of the most delicious kiwis & honeydew melons we’ve ever eaten. …In the dead of an east coast winter- who knew?! 🤷♀️🤷♂️
This recipe is incredibly simple to make, and you can get as complex or simple for toppings as you feel fit.
We hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we did! With joy, The Weads. 🌿
Recipe for #Smoothie base (2 servings):
- 1 frozen banana 🍌
- 1/2 c frozen pineapple 🍍
- 1/2 c Greek yogurt 🍦
- dash of cinnamon 💃
- the juice of 1 lime 💚
- 1 tsp of @rawnice butterfly pea powder 🦋
- 1/3 tsp powdered #pitaya 💕
- Topped this with purple pansies (edible), big blackberries, blueberries, dragon fruit (melon balled & cut into shapes), and pearl sprinkles. 💜
This recipe was so much fun to make! If you are playing around with Butterfly Pea Powder (BPP) for the first time, it’s sort of like a science experiment! When added to ingredients like yogurt or banana, the color is a blue hue. But add some citric acid (ex: lemon or lime juice) and VIOLÀ! …It turns this pretty purple. And there isn’t an overwhelming taste to BPP in case you were wondering.
***If you have kiddos, this would be a fun recipe to make with them to show off your awesome parental magician skillz when the BPP magically changes from blue to purple. 👩🔬🎩😜 Just add the lime juice last, after all the other ingredients have been blended & then blend again.
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we did! With joy, The Weads. 🌿
